Margie Register Owens, 84, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023 at the Willowbrook Assisted Living Facility in Lake City, after an extended illness. She was born in Lake City on March 12, 1939 to the late Henry and Bertha Robinson Register. She has made the North Florida area her home all of her life and was a member of the Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Wellborn. She was a 1957 Columbia High School Graduate and worked for many years as a Bank Teller with Columbia County Bank. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Hollis Owens; her brother, Charles Register; and her two sisters, Mildred Rogers & Dot Locker.

She is survived by her son, Glenn Owens (Debbie) of Lake City and her daughter, Gail Denson of Tallahassee. Six grandchildren, Matthew Denson (Julie), Joshua Owens (Casey), Travis Denson, Ashley Gamble (Kenneth), Roth Denson (Tori) and Victoria Williams (Louis); along with eight great-grandchildren, Kelly Denson, Cason Denson, Emily Owens, Chandler Gamble, Charlotte Williams, Knox Gamble, Alex Denson and Anita Denson also survive.

A graveside funeral service for Mrs. Owens will be conducted on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in Memorial Cemetery with Rev. John Harrison officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 2:30 P.M. prior to the service at the cemetery.
