Margaret Evelyn Martin

Margaret Evelyn Martin, 80, of Fort White, passed away peacefully on Monday afternoon, July 6, 2026 at the Haven Hospice - Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City after an extended illness. She was a life-long resident of Fort White, born on February 4, 1946 to the late Howard Franklin Terry and Ora Emma Edgemon. She worked as an Assisted Living Facility Administrator for many years, managing the High Springs Care Center; and she was also a member of the Fort White Baptist Church. In her early years she enjoyed painting, but in later years she enjoyed cooking, keeping her home nice and neat, reading and spending time with her family. She is preceded in death by her sisters, Mary Emma Porter and Janice Elaine Revels. 

She is survived by her loving husband of over 62 years, Gene Martin of Fort White; son, Marty Martin (Christy) of Virginia; and her daughter, Terri Parnell (Michael) of Fort White. Six grandchildren, Dustin Cason (Kirby) of North Carolina, Kristen Church (Landon) of Virginia, Lillian Cason of Orlando, Nicholas Martin (Shiloh) of Maryland, Dalton Martin of West Virginia and Dylan Cason of Washington; along with ten great-grandchildren also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Martin will be conducted on Saturday, July 18, 2026 at 11:15 A.M. in the Fort White Baptist Church with Pastor Landon Church and Pastor Steve Woodberry officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort White Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. prior to the service at the church.
