Mrs. Margaret Lee Graham, 93, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at her residence. Born in Jacksonville, Florida to John C. and Margaret Thelma Carter Womack, she moved to Fort Lauderdale at six weeks old. After moving to North Carolina as a child, she returned to Fort Lauderdale and graduated from Fort Lauderdale High School in 1948. Margaret became a Registered Nurse in 1975, and, following her relocation to Columbia County in the mid-1970s, she proudly served as the school nurse at Summers Elementary School in Lake City until her retirement in 1991. In her retirement, she enjoyed square dancing for many years and loved to travel, with her beloved family and friends. She was a member of St. James Episcopal Church in Lake City, eagerly volunteering to help with coffee service and other activities.
Margaret was the widow of the late William "Bill" Graham. She was also predeceased by her first husband, Thomas W. Crews. She is survived by daughters Conni Cully (Jerry) of Wilton Manors, and Cathi Brown (Junji) of Fort White, son Mark Crews (Jacqueline) of Gainesville, three grandchildren Clifford Nunery (Rebecca) of Archer, Kyle Nunery (Vanessa) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Matthew Crews of Gainesville, and one great-grandchild, Abby Sofia Nunery.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 PM at St. James Episcopal Church on Monday, July 29, 2024. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the church. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3596 S. US Hwy 441, Lake City, FL. 32025, 386-752-1954.
