Mrs. Marcelle "Jackie" Tyre Bedenbaugh, 79, of Lake City died Saturday, January 2, 2016 at her daughter's residence in Gainesville. Born to the late Alvin Brown and Ruby Hayes Tyre, in Lulu, she had been a lifelong resident of Lake City. She was a graduate of Columbia High School in 1955 and retired after 36 years serving as the Columbia County Veterans Service Officer. Mrs. Bedenbaugh was a breast cancer survivor, and a volunteer for Reach for Recovery and the American Cancer Society and attended Hopeful Baptist Church Westside. She was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Bedenbaugh in 1973, daughter Claudia Miller in 2014, sisters, Helen Tyre Cameron, and infant Alverna Tyre, and longtime friend George Cox in 2013.

Mrs. Bedenbaugh is survived by her son, Al Bedenbaugh (Teri) of Lake City; daughter, Rube Bedenbaugh of Gainesville; grandchildren, D.J. Pyles (Tiffany), Shawn Miller, Trey Cato, Daran Bedenbaugh (Becky), Gabe Bedenbaugh (Staci), Mallory Bedenbaugh Johndrow (Scott); great grandchildren, Ethan, Jack, Titus, and Ryleigh Bedenbaugh; step granddaughter, Callie Garrett.

Funeral services for Mrs. Bedenbaugh will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Herman Griffin officiating. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00-7:00 P.M. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
