Loretta Jean Marchant, 80 of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, February 16, 2022 at the WillowBrook Assisted Living in Lake City.  She was born in Live Oak, Florida to the late Freeman and Eva Hall Law.  Mrs. Marchant was a graduate of Jasper High School class of 1959 and was a lifelong resident of North Florida in the communities of Jasper, Starke and Lake City.  Through the years, Mrs. Marchant owned and operated "Rooster's Diner" in Jasper, "Lil' Skeeter's" in Starke, "Rockin Robins" in Lake City and "Bret and Jerry's Sporting Goods in both Starke and Lake City.  Mrs. Marchant coached girls softball in the early 80's and she enjoyed RV camping and attending North Florida Bluegrass Festivals.  Mrs. Marchant also enjoyed gardening, sewing, playing piano, going to the beach and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her stepfather, J.B. Sapp; her husband William H. "Bill" Marchant; one son, Asher G. "Jerry" Sullivan, II; one granddaughter, Brandi Krieghauser Jackson; and one brother, Billy Law.

Survivors include her two daughters,  Tara Marchant Krieghauser (Michael), Lake City, Mona Pooser, Gainesville; two sons, Ricky Sullivan, Orlando and Bret Marchant (Jan), Apache Junction, AZ; one brother, Robert "Bobby" Sapp (Barbara), Gainesville; one sister-in-law, Wanda Law, Vero Beach; and 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Marchant will be conducted on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 2:00 PM  the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel.  Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Saturday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
