Loree Virginia Widney, 89, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday, August 20, 2025 at the Canopy at Harper Lake in Lake City after a brief illness. She was born in Monroeville, Alabama on March 12, 1936 to the late James Monroe Everett and Bertha Allen Everett.

She has made Lake City her home for the last seven years, moving here from Mobile, Alabama. She worked for Vanity Fair for over 30 years as a Supervisor. When she retired from Vanity Fair, she owned and operated Walls Mobile Home Park in Atmore, Alabama for numerous years.

After moving back to Lake City in 2019,  she and Roger attended First Full Gospel Church. She was of the Baptist Faith. Our sweet Momma loved to fish, sew, watch movies and spending time with her family. After moving into the Canopy at Harper Lake, she made the Canopy her home where she had made lots of friends.

She is preceded in death by her brother, William Lonnie Everett and her sister, Roberta Hall.

She is survived by her loving husband of over 17 years, Roger Widney of Lake City, FL; son, Ray Asberry of Atmore, AL; daughters, Teena Peavey (George) of Lake City, FL, Patricia Burress of Clayton, LA and Brenda Mills (Steve) of Dothan, AL; step daughters, Ginger Bianco (Catello) of Orange Park and Cindy Owens (Mike) of Georgia. Three sisters, Jean Wright of Mobile, AL, Hazel Bryant of Montgomery, AL and Minnie Hilton of Warner Robins, GA along with eleven grandchildren, twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild also survive.

A Memorial Service for Mrs. Widney will be conducted on Saturday, August 23, 2025 at 3:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Mark Cunningham officiating.
