Linda Ann Lyons, age 83 of Lake City, Florida, passed away Friday, December 29th, 2023 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born in New Rochelle, New York to Luke and Grace Vaccaro on January 21st, 1940.  She graduated from Highland Central High School, Highland, New York and New Paltz Teachers College in New Paltz, New York.  Linda was married to her loving husband of 62 years, Kenneth Lyons.  They were married in New York on April 22nd, 1961.  They moved from New York to Boca Raton, FL. in the late 1970's, where they raised their family together.  They later moved from Boca Raton to Lake City, FL where they both retired from work.

Linda enjoyed traveling with her family, especially to their yearly week-long trip to Sanibel Island.  She loved walking the beaches of Sanibel, looking for sea shells, seeing the beautiful sunsets on Captiva Island, and shopping at the local stores for unique island artwork.  She enjoyed playing the organ, especially when it was time to sing Christmas carols with the family.  She enjoyed riding around the neighborhood in her golf cart visiting with neighbors, watching Hallmark movies, and listening to Elvis.  Linda loved spending time with her family and also her beloved pets.  Linda was employed with IBM, City of Boca Raton Fire Department, and Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City, where she was also a member.  Linda is preceded in death by her parents Luke and Grace Vaccaro and her sister Janet Delaney.

She is survived by her husband Ken Lyons and their three children Kirk Lyons (Shanda), Debbie Rix (Jay), Kim Bustamante (Angel); seven grandchildren Jason Rix (Jennifer), Tyler Rix (Meghan), Luke Lyons (Hailey), Aubri Lyons, Grace Bustamante, Jena Lyons and Kenny Bustamante; and four great grandchildren Lily Rix, Cody Rix, Asher Rix and Hallie Rix.

A visitation for Linda will be held on Friday, January 19th, 2024 between 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Lake City, Florida followed by a funeral service at 4:00 P.M. also at the funeral home.
