Obituary

Mrs. Linda Arnold Chambers, 86, of Lake City, Florida passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Wednesday, July 5, 2023 with her family by her side. She was born on November 15, 1936, the oldest of four children to the late Dr. L.J. "Jim" Arnold, Jr. and Ruth McColskey Arnold. Linda was a 1954 graduate of Columbia High School and a 1958 graduate of Florida State University. Early in her professional career, Linda taught high school in Gainesville and Lake City. After raising her 3 children, Linda became a licensed realtor where her love for helping others shined brightly. Linda was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and a woman of faith. Always cheerful and willing to help anyone in need. Her dedication to her native home was evidenced through her community service. She was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church and served on the Girl Scouts of Gateway Council for over a decade. She was a dedicated member of Altrusa International and the Lake City Garden Club. Anyone who knew Linda, knew she loved spending time at the river with her family and friends. She called the river her little slice of Heaven on Earth. Family was of the utmost importance to Linda.

She is survived by her beloved husband of 25 years, Ronald Chambers; her 2 sisters, Rhoda Arnold Matthews and Charlotte Arnold Swink (Bob); brother, L.J. "Jimmy" Arnold, III (Rosalind); her 3 children, Daniel Martin Page (Julie), Lauri Page Shubert (Dennis), and Abby Page Freibert (David); her step-daughters, Missy Lee (Mike), Teresa Barber (Tommy), and Ronda Chambers; grandchildren, Jessica Levings, Chelsea Luther, Zachary Shubert, Meghan Dasher, Austin Barber, Madison Page, Andrew Freibert, Aaron Barber, Harrison Shubert, and Hannah Freibert; nine great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Linda will be dearly missed by all that knew her. Her big heart, unwavering faith, and love for her family will forever be remembered. May we all take comfort in knowing she is home with her Heavenly Father.
