Leticia L. Gonzales, 86, of Lake City, passed away at her home on Tuesday, February 14, 2017. She was born in Malabon, Rizal, Philippines to the late Antonio G. and Rosenda Ouijano Luztre. Mrs. Gonzales had made her home in Lake City since 2001 having moved here from Rosedale, New York. She retired in 2001 from the Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Manhattan, New York as a Registered Nurse with 30 years of service. Mrs. Gonzales was of the Catholic Faith and a member of Epiphany Catholic Church. She always encouraged her children and grandchildren to pursue higher education. Mrs. Gonzales enjoyed gardening, reading and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Victorino Gonzales and one brother, Honorable Judge Paterno Lutzre.
Survivors include her three sons, Alex Gonzales, M.D. (Cynthia), Lake City, Allan Vic Gonzales, Rosedale, NY and Avon Gonzales (Theresa), Marlboro, NJ: one brother, Gerardo Luztre (Naty), Alabang, Philippines; two sisters, Oliva Lacuata, Alabang, Philippines and Rosalinda Capili (Freddie), Houston, TX: 3 grandsons, Michael Gonzales (Sarah), Kenneth Gonzales and Martin Gonzales all of Jacksonville: one granddaughter, Kelly Ann Gonzales Boyle (Derek), Marlboro, NJ: and one great grandson, Carmine Gonzales, Jacksonville.
A funeral mass will be conducted on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 11:00 AM at Epiphany Catholic Church with Father Rob Trujillo officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Thursday, February 16, 2017 from 6-9:00 PM and again on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 6-9:00 PM with a Rosary at 7:00 PM, at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at: https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/
