Leroy "Bill" Nichols, 77, of Lake City, passed away of a broken heart at his home in Lake City. He was born in Bartow, FL, on February 11, 1943 to the late James W. "Lon" and Evelyn Tyson Nichols. He has made Lake City his home since 1969 and was of the Baptist faith. He worked for 31 plus years as an Engineer with PCS and was the owner/operator of NFST, INC. He was a longtime member and very active in the Elks Lodge #893, who in his spare time, enjoyed being with his family. He is preceded in death by his loving wife of 54 years in June, Evelyn Jane Nichols; grandson, Nicholas Sheffield and granddaughter, Brandi Krieghauser Jackson.
He is survived by his children, MaryAnn Nichols Sellers (Mike) and Sharolyn Nichols Krieghauser (Robert White). Grandchildren, Cameron Nichols, Laney Sellers, Avah and Alivia Jackson also survive.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the family held an intimate and private graveside service honoring Bill, and laid him to rest next to his wife at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family requests that privacy be afforded to them during this difficult time.
