Leonard Kenneth Keen, Sr., 94 of Lake City was born on May 24, 1931 to Bessie Albritton and Perry Dewey Keen. He was accepted into heaven around midnight on the morning on January 2, 2026. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of many years, Shirley A. Keen of Lake City; whom he married in 1950; and later renewed their vows in 1994; daughters, Terri Sampson (Joe) and Sheila Lang both of Lake City; sons, Leonard Kenneth Keen, Jr. (Mary) of Wellborn and James Owen Keen (Cyndi) of White Springs; brother, Dewey Keen (Sheila) of Schwartz Creek, MI; and sister, Gloria Odom of High Springs; and his siter-in-law, Casta Keen of Fruitland Park. Many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews also survive. He is preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Hallie Jean Henderson (Tommy), Gerald Keen (Rachel) and W. Franklin Keen; his son in law, Curt Lang; and his grandchildren, JR and Kenny. This was a blended family, and they were all his!

He was the patriarch of the larger Keen family and he was a 5th generation Columbia Countian. He was a smart worker, leader and supervisor. He was a Master Sergeant in the US Army; a faithful member of the Calvary Baptist Church; a 60 year member of the Masonic Lodge #13 and Shriner; and a member of the Giddeons.

A funeral service for Mr. Keen will be conducted on Tuesday, January 6, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Hugh Dampier officiating, assisted by Pastor Howard Adams. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
