Leon Feagle, 79, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Monday morning, May 13, 2024 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, after a long illness, with his family by his side. He was born and raised in Lake City, and was the son of the late Leo M. Feagle and Annie Ruth Roberts Feagle. He attended the Mason City School and later Columbia High School, graduating with the class of 1963. He worked for many years with the FDOT, where he was a Engineer and helped as a Surveyor as well. His most enjoyable work was his farming, growing tobacco, watermelon and corn; he spent his entire life on the farm, and won Farmer of the Year in the 1970s. He is preceded in death by his five sisters, Minnie Feagle, Vivian Crews, Bessie Timmons, Betty Witt and Annie Mae Lands.
He is survived by his daughters, Judy Walker (Larry) and Lisa Busscher (Joey) both of Lake City; four grandchildren, Leslie McGriff (Brad), Hailey Douglas (Wes), Shelby Perrin and Martin Busscher and seven great-grandchildren, Leah McGriff, Addyson Baxter, Hunter Douglas, Luke McGriff, Jake Douglas and Carter & Carson Stinson. He is also survived by his very close friend and mother of his children, Nell Feagle; and his brothers, Leroy Feagle (Sharon) and David Feagle (Nora) both of Lake City. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
A graveside funeral service for Mr. Feagle will be conducted on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 10:00 A.M. in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations please be considered to the Haven Hospice, 6037 W. US HWY 90, Lake City, FL, 32055.
