Lenda Darnell Walker, 83, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Bedrock Nursing Center following an extended illness. She was born on December 13, 1941 in Lake City, Florida along with her twin sister, Glenda Hill Glover. Lenda grew up in Lake City on her family's tobacco farm. She attended school in Columbia County and graduated in the class of 1959 from Columbia High School. She graduated from the University of Florida in 1972. She was a Paralegal/Secretary for 60 years and worked for several law firms in Lake City & Jacksonville, Florida as well as in Charlotte, NC.

Lenda was preceded in death by her parents, L.P. "Buck" Hill, Sr. and Rose Hill; her daughter, Veronica Walker; brother, Frederick "Fritzi" Hill; and her sister, Antonio Hill.

She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Walker of Charlotte, NC; three grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Glenda Hill Glover of Ft. Walton Beach, FL, Lana McLain of Palm Coast, FL; and her brothers, L.P. Hill, Jr. (Theda) & Jeffery Hill (Linda) of Lake City, FL and Michael Hill of Gainesville, FL. Lenda was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.

Per Lenda's wishes, no memorial services will be held. Her ashes will be spread over the family farm at a later date. Lenda would be honored to have donations made in her memory to VITAS hospice, 2614 NW 43rd street, Gainesville, FL, 32606. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
