Obituary

Larry Lynwood Kite, 81, of Lake City, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2025 at the Solaris Healthcare of Lake City, after an extended illness. He was born in Atlanta, Georgia on September 14, 1943 to the late Roy and Dorothy Kite. He served in the United States Army for 3 years, earning the rank of Spec 4 and then worked as an Electrical Engineer for FPL for over 22 years and then with the Ocala Electric Utility for 10 years before retirement. In his spare time, he was an avid golfer, he had an even handicap, loved baseball; he even played with the Arkansas Travelers, and anything else that had to do with sports. He was also a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Lynn Kite; children Susan McFall (Derek), Thomas Kite (Casie) and James Kite (Robin); and his grandchildren, Jackson, Andrew and Conner McFall, Kayley Travis, Isabella Kite, Emily Kite, Christopher Giella, Ashley Giella and Alec Kite.

Per Mr. Kite's wishes, there will be services scheduled at a later date.
