Kevin Paul Harper

Kevin Paul Harper, 67, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, February 17, 2026 at the Haven Hospice – E.T. York Care Center in Gainesville after an extended illness. He was born in San Jose, California on May 2, 1958 to the late Cecil Harper and Hilda Costa Harper. He has made Lake City his home since 1998, moving here from California. He was a truck driver by trade and was currently working for the O’neal companies in Lake City. He was a member of the Lake City Church of God; and in his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard and motor cycle riding. He is preceded in death by his step-son, Joshua Miranda.

He is survived by his loving wife of over 30 years, Diane Harper; daughters, Rachelle Barragan, Ashley Harper and Melissa Harper; step-daughters, Donna Miranda and Charlene Vestmorris; brother, Cecil Harper and his sister, Ruth Ross. Nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive.

A memorial service for Mr. Harper will be conducted on Friday, February 27, 2026 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with Pastor Carl Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the chapel of the funeral home prior to the service.
