Kent Lee Freed, 62, of Ft. White, Fl., passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at North Florida Regional in Gainesville, Fl.

Born October 13, 1953 in Elkhart, IN to the Late Riley Bill Freed and Mary Ann Kirby Freed. Mr. Freed was employed with the Gainesville Police Department from 3/16/81 - 7/31/01.  After retirement he worked with the Corner Drug Store in Gainesville, FL, for a short time. Mr. Freed graduated from University of Florida. He loved the Gators and his football musketeers, Bill Richardson (Gudrun), Mike Olexa (Colleen) and Jian Pu (Becky Hamilton).

Mr. Freed is predeceased by his father, Riley "Bill" Freed. Survived by his wife, Valerie, daughter, Megan (Jared ) Jacobson, two step sons, Charlie Bailey and Matthew (Kathy) Bailey, mother, Mary Ann Freed, sisters, Teri Cummings (Kenne), Patty Thorenson (Steve) and Kathy Blessing (Ron). He has two grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

A memorial gathering will be held at a future date with family and friends. His wishes were in lieu of flowers you send a contribution in his name to: Hillsdale College, 33 E.
