Kenneth R. "Doc" Tyre, 82 of Jasper, passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at the HCA Florida, North Florida Hospital in Gainesville.  He was born in Jasper, Florida, the second of seven sons, to the late Earl Lewis Tyre and Doris Dempsey Tyre.  Doc was a longtime resident of Homestead, Florida and was a member of the South Dade High School class of 1959.  He was the owner and operator of Doc Tyre's Sunshine Auto Service in Homestead for many years.  Doc was a pilot, he flew model air planes and loved hunting and fishing. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Samuel Eugene Tyre; one daughter, Vicki Lynn Roach; and two brothers, Robert Tyre and Roger Tyre.

Survivors include his wife, Reba Johnson, Jasper; two daughters, Jayne Lee Storrs (L.D.), Dripping Springs, TX and Mary T. Tyre-Goos (Terri), Colorado; four brothers, Colen "Sonny" Tyre, Jasper, Curtis Tyre (Janice), Tallahassee, Paul Tyre (Renee), Homestead and Carl Tyre (Kathy), Punta Gorda; several grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.

A graveside Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at 11:00 AM at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery near Jennings, Florida.
