Obituary

Kenneth Key passed away peacefully at his home on Friday morning surrounded by his family. Kenneth was born July 17, 1933 in Key West , Fla., a "True Key West Conch". He graduated from Key West High School in 1951 and then joined the Air Force shortly after graduation.

Kenneth served in both the Korean and Vietnam conflicts one of the highlights of his career was being Flight Engineer on aircraft bringing back the first moon rocks from Apollo 11/12 and spending 10 years in the Apollo program.

After retiring from the USAF he went to Iran with Boeing Commercial Aircraft Company for almost 6 yrs. he trained Iranian Air Force in maintenance, logistics and operations. He then returned in 1979 and went to work as Projects Manager for Aero Corp in lake City where he was responsible for removal, refitting and instructing of the center wing for Lockheed c-130 aircraft.

He returned to Key West in 1986 and went into the Security Business and became Operations Manager for Mel Fisher Treasure Museum. Kenneth spent 40 years in the Aircraft Business and 10 years in The Security Business.

"Canvas" or "Canvas Head" which his high school classmates called him fulfilled his lifelong ambition of wanting to fly and travel.

He is survived by his brother Joseph Key, Daughters Debbie Boswick (Don)

Virginia Stalvey (Sam) Grandchildren Vanessa Haworth, Jessica Haworth(Dale) Jason Alire, James Alire, Matthew Stalvey (Brittney) and Makayla Stalvey along with 3 great grandchildren.

Kenneth will be laid to rest at Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Cemetery with full military Honors. Family will be having a memorial service for him on March 9th at 2pm at the American Legion Post 57(Post Everlasting) all family and friends are invited. There will be a gathering with food after the service and all are invited. We will miss you Dad(Pops)until we meet again "We Love You Always".
