Mr. Keith Lindsey Yelvington, 66 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at the Malcolm Randall Veteran's Affairs Medical Center in Gainesville. He was born in Palatka, Florida to the late James Edward and Floyce Lindsey Yelvington. Keith was a graduate of Seacrest High School in Delray Beach, FL and a veteran of the United States Navy. Prior to moving to Lake City in 2005, he was a longtime resident of Lake Worth, FL. Keith was a true blue Ford man and had worked for Walt's Live Oak Ford for 8 years and loved to refer to himself as a "Broomologist". He was a Civil War buff, loved to hunt, fish and mowing his grass. He was preceded in death by two brothers, James Rodney and Leon Yelvington and one sister, Ellen Yelvington.
Survivors include his daughter and son in law, Shelby Leigh and Dennis Conklin, Lake City; one brother, Phil Yelvington (Diane), Green Acres, FL; two sisters, Avery Howell (Jerry), Bainbridge, GA and Janice Oliver, Rock Hill, SC; one sister in law, Bobby Yelvington, Palatka, FL; three grandchildren, Evan, Mackenzie and Raegan Conklin all of Lake City: and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Memorial services with military honors will be conducted on Saturday, June 13, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Rodriguez officiating. Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to the service from 10-11:00 am on Saturday.
