Mrs. Kathy Walkup, 70, of Lake City, passed away on Sunday, May 29, 2022, surrounded by family due to complications from an unforeseen illness. She was born in Virginia on June 1, 1951 to the late William and Evelyn Jenkins Cook. Kathy enjoyed spending time with her family and friends as often as possible. She also enjoyed playing bingo regularly. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Walkup; siblings, William and Breanda.

She is survived by her three sons, William (Sally) Holland, James (Cathy) Holland & Patrick (Cynthia) Holland; two step-daughters, Terry (Keith) Braswell & Jaime (Thomas) Robinson; one sister, Mary Colding;  and one brother-in-law, Walter Walkup. Five grandchildren, one great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews also survive.

A funeral service for Mrs. Walkup will be conducted on Thursday, June 2, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation beginning at 1:00 P.M. prior to the services. Interment will follow on Friday morning at 9:30 A.M. in the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.
