Katherine Mills Fike-Hunter, passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2017, in Lake City. Mrs. Fike-Hunter was born December 5, 1924 in Knoxville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late, James & Nora Mills. She attended public school in Knox County & graduated from Knoxville High School. She then attended the University of Tennessee where she was pledged to Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.  She was a faithful member of the First Presbyterian Church of Lake City for over 62 years, where she taught Sunday School, Bible School, sang in the church choir and assisted with the Youth Folk Choir. She was an accomplished pianist. On July 31, 1948, she married George Paul Fike, Jr. They lived in Sevierville, TN before moving to Lake City in 1954. They owned and operated Fike Oil Company, a Phillips 66 distributorship, for over 25 years. Paul died in 1981. January 12, 1985, Katherine married William H. Hunter. He died in 2005.

Survivors include  her two sons, David (Laurie Ann) Fike of Lake City, FL and Jef (Shera) Fike of Grand Prairie, TX; sister, Pamela Mills and friend, Shirley Nesbitt of Madeira Beach, FL; brother in law, Walter (Judy) Fike of Winter Park, FL; 6 grandchildren & 9 great grandchildren;  caregiver and dear friend, Joy Richardson.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the wonderful staff at Willowbrook ALF, and Haven Hospice, for the kindness & care given to their mother.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, January 18, 2017, at Memorial Cemetery with Mr. James Montgomery officiating.
