Justin Lamar McRae, 37, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Friday afternoon, April 25, 2025 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, after an extended illness. He was born in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia on October 22, 1987 and has made Lake City his home for the last four years, moving here from the Chattanooga, TN area. He worked with McNess as a Fork Lift Operator; and in his spare time, enjoyed spending time with his pup "Baby Girl", fishing, kayaking, and sitting by a camp fire.

He is survived by his mother, Wendy Cochran (Starlin); father, Fredrick McRae (Tracy); son, Hunter McRae; daughter, Autumn McRae; sister, Stephanie Wester (Sarah); maternal grandparents, Linda Lewis (Bobby) and Ronald Smith; and his aunt, Robbie Hatcher (Lonnie); and uncle, Wayne Smith (Angela). Two nieces, Rylee and Addie Wester along with several cousins and extended family also survive.

A private family service for Mr. McRae will be conducted at a later date.
