Ms. Julia E. Dicks, 79, passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) in Lake City after an extended illness.

She was born in Atlanta GA to Julius and Grace Rish in 1943. She was raised in Ft. Worth TX. She attended Evangel College and Texas Christian College before finishing her education at the University of North Texas. She moved to Lake City in 1963 and enjoyed teaching prior to retiring to raise her family.  She was a nature and pet lover, was an avid reader, and enjoyed listening to music and spending time with family. She was preceded in death by her parents Julius and Grace Rish and a sister Doris Roberts.

She is survived by her three children, Suzanne Davis (Jay), Brad Dicks (Susanna), and Andy Dicks.  She had eight grandchildren: Brandon Mason, Brent Mason, Ashley Adams, David Adams, Shanna Adams, Sarah Dicks, John Dicks, and Aaron Dicks. She had four great-grandchildren.  She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be conducted Saturday, February 25, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Doug Felton officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Cemetery.
