Mrs. Judy F. Childs Jerrell, 75, born April 7, 1947, in Covington, Virginia, passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at Fernandina Beach Nursing Center following an extended illness. She is the daughter of the late Arnold H. and Mary Raeburn (Bowen) Childs. She enjoyed cooking, especially for others. Her life was centered around serving her family and her church. She faithfully served her Lord and Savior for over fifty-plus years, serving alongside her beloved (deceased) husband, Steve Jerrell, at Lake City Christian Church for over thirty years. Judy and Steve were married for forty-four years. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren Bethanie, Hunter, Ridge, and especially her great-granddaughter Jubilie.

Judy is survived by one daughter Stephanie F. Jerrell-Estep and her husband William G. ("Billy") Estep Amelia Island, FL.; one son Michael W. Jerrell, Covington, Louisiana; one brother Albert H. Childs, wife Debbie Mt. Judea, Arkansas. Six Sisters, Norma J. Johnson, husband Jerry (Deceased) Atlanta, GA,, Loretta Joyce Phillips, husband Wesley (deceased) Melbourne, FL., Sylvia McLeran (Deceased), husband Leonard (deceased), Gainesville, FL., Lottie H. Hill Tallahassee, FL., Dawn Segler, husband Lawton, Tallahassee, FL., and Nanette Childs and Danny Johnson Lake City, FL.; three grandchildren; Bethanie Faye Horne and her daughter (Judy's great-grandchild) Jubilie Faye M. Horne, Tallahassee, FL., Hunter Cole Jerrell and Ridge Jacob Jerrell along with their mother Nicole Jerrell, all of Jacksonville, FL.; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Judy will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2023, at 3:00 P.M. at the Lake City Christian Church (2400 SW SR 247, Lake City), with Pastor Jake Richardson officiating and Pastor Seth Byrd and Pastor Butch Jerrell assisting. Visitation with the family will be held Saturday, February 11, 2023, from 5:00 P.M. Until 7:00 P.M. at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
