May 28, 1944 – January 27, 2021
Judith Kay MacKnight Risner, 76, of Lake City, passed away on Wednesday evening, January 27, 2021 at the University of Florida Shands Hospital in Gainesville after an extended illness. She was born in Shinnston, West Virginia on May 28, 1944 to the Late Cleo MacKnight and Ruth Hall MacKnight. She has made Lake City her home for over the past 30 years; and in her younger days, was a nurse and a seamstress and played in a band, often making there stage costumes. Later in life, she worked as a bookkeeper and secretary before retirement. In her spare time, she enjoyed spending time with her dogs, especially her loyal companion, Buttercup; and playing the slots any chance that she got. She is preceded in death by three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children; Charlotte "Sherry" Ricketts (David), Doug Turner (Jennifer), Jamie Blankenship (Sherry), Donny Blankenship (Susan) and Lonny Blankenship (Kristy); lifetime partner, G.W. Risner; step children, Wayne Risner (Judy), Annette Wimberly and Gedith Butler (Thomas); siblings, Robert MacKnight and Shirley Kerestman. Twenty Two grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren also survive.
Visitation with the family of Mrs. Risner will be conducted on Monday, February 1, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
