Judi Marie Lewis passed away on December 25, 2019. Judi was born in Johnson City, Tennessee, on October 31, 1946, to Sarah Marie VonCannon Lewis and Theodore Lewis, who predeceased her as did her niece, Robin. She is survived by brothers, Robert Theodore Lewis (Joyce) and Donald Lee Lewis (Lynne); nieces, Jamie, Jessica, Bambi, Angela, Donna and 16 great and great, great nieces and nephews.
After high school, Judi worked at the Naval Air Station, Sanford, FL and the Orlando Navy Base and spent 32 years with Delta Airlines in Albany, GA, Miami, FL, and Atlanta, GA. After retiring in 2004, Judi moved to Fort White, FL, working at Publix in Lake City and as a dispatcher at the High Springs Police Department.
Judi knew how to celebrate, was close to her nieces, was an avid traveler, a passionate "cake lady", and a dog rescuer. Judi was an active member of the GFWC High Springs New Century Woman's Club, and Red Hats Society. She was an enthusiastic supporter of charities including the Alachua Military Support, Heifer International and Operation Smile.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the GFWC High Springs New Century Woman's Club (23674 US Highway 27, High Springs, FL 32643), at noon on February 15, 2020. In lieu of flowers, donations are accepted by the Woman's Club (P.O. Box 1154 High Springs, FL 32655) for Heifer International Program and Operation Smile.
