Joseph “Todd” Buckles, 54, of Volusia County, Florida, passed away on March 28, 2026. Born on January 24, 1972, in Lake City, Florida, Todd remained a man deeply connected to his family, his roots, and the people he loved.
Todd devoted much of his life to work that reflected his strength, intelligence, and servant’s heart. He worked for many years in Volusia County as a Construction Manager before moving on to Ergon, where he served as Technical Marketing Manager and built many lasting friendships along the way. Later, he founded JTB Concrete with his son, Justin Buckles, and also had an arrangement with AGC Contractors. Todd took great pride in his work, in building things that mattered, and in helping others. At the time of his passing, he was in the middle of helping build a new sanctuary for his church, Cornerstone Church, a project that reflected both his faith and his commitment to serving God and others.
More than anything, Todd loved his family. He enjoyed spending time with those he loved most and created lasting memories with them through laughter, conversation, and simply being together. He was also a passionate fan of University of Miami football and enjoyed fishing, golfing, and the simple joy of being around the people who meant the most to him. Todd was funny, enjoyable to be around, and loved by many, many people. He was very intelligent and always seemed to know the right answer, the kind of person everyone wanted on their team, especially at Trivia Night.
Todd also dedicated a great deal of his time to investing in young people. Through his involvement in Pop Warner football, and during a time when he served as Commissioner, he helped guide, encourage, and shape the lives of many kids over the years. His influence reached far beyond the field, and he was instrumental in the lives of so many young people who benefited from his time, leadership, and care.
Todd is survived by his children, Justin Buckles, James Buckles, Hunter Buckles, and Skylar Buckles; his grandchildren, Kaysin Buckles, Jaida Buckles, Lynnux Buckles, Willow Buckles, and Baby “Boy” Buckles; his brothers, Bryan Buckles (Cassie) and Brad Buckles (Ashley); and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard Buckles and Patty Buckles; his sister, Tandae Law; and his grandparents.
Todd leaves behind a legacy of laughter, love, wisdom, and devotion to family. While his absence is deeply felt, his family takes comfort in knowing that this is not the end of his story, but the beginning of eternal peace in the presence of the Lord.
