Joseph "Joe" Benjamin Oliver Roberts, IV, 79 of White Springs, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, June 2, 2023, with his family by his side.  He was born in Lake City, the oldest of three children, to the late Joseph Benjamin Oliver Roberts, III and Henry Eva Bullard Roberts.  Mr. Roberts was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1961 and also the University of Georgia class of 1967.  Following college, he served our county in the United States Army with a tour of duty in Vietnam.  Mr. Roberts loved hunting, fishing, working on the farm and watching his favorite John Wayne westerns.  He coached football, baseball and softball for many years and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.  Mr. Roberts was a history buff and loved to share historical events and facts.  He truly loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, and he never missed a softball game for his granddaughters.  Mr. Roberts was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Marcus Slade Roberts.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Glynda Wynn Roberts, Lake City; his two children, Machon Roberts Kvistad (John), Lake City and Joe Ben Roberts (Lindsey), Lake City; one brother, Gordon Lance Roberts, White Springs; and his four grandchildren, Kayli Kvistad Kuykendall (Ben), Kamdyn Kvistad, Cooper Roberts and Cole Roberts all of Lake City.

Graveside funeral services for Mr. Roberts will be conducted on Tuesday, June 6, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Cemetery in White Springs with Mr. Johnny Bullard officiating.  Interment with military honors will follow.  A time of visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
