Obituary

Jordan Lee Hager went home to be with the Lord on June 22, 2024 at the age of 18.  He was preceded in death by his brother Chad Hager.  Jordan is survived by his parents Merle and Jill Hager of Fort White, Florida, his sister Faith Hager who was one of his best friends and closest confidants, his sister Audrey Hager, his brother Kyle Hager, his grandparents Gene and Linda Petteway, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, countless friends, and the love of his life Karah Stephens.

Jordan was born on February 13, 2006 in Gainesville, Florida, and has been a lifelong resident of Fort White.  Jordan graduated from Fort White High School with high honors in the Class of 2024.  Jordan was a talented baseball player, an active member of HOSA - Future Health Professionals, and a gifted soloist and ensemble member in the chorus program.  As one of the many awards, honors, and distinctions Jordan has received, his baseball jersey number 18 is being "retired" by his school.

Jordan was dual enrolled at Florida Gateway College in high school and was in the process of transferring to Santa Fe College to pursue a career in Pediatric Physical Therapy.  He also worked as a valued employee at Winn-Dixie in Lake City.

Jordan loved his family, friends, and music.  He also enjoyed going to the beach, staying at his grandparents' condo on Lake Weir, shopping at Target, and eating at Panera Bread.

Jordan attended Parkview Baptist Church in Lake City, where he publicly professed his faith in Jesus Christ and was recently baptized.  He is described by his family, friends, and teachers as funny, honest, bold, unashamed, dependable, respectful, hardworking, committed, reliable, selfless, giving, so compassionate with such a tender warm heart, the most loyal and faithful friend, and above all - a devoted servant and witness for Jesus Christ, who kept his eyes fixed on the Cross and ran toward it.  Jordan leaves a lasting legacy of faith, love, compassion, and true friendship. Those closest to him, take comfort in one of Jordan's favorite passages of scripture, "But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.  Therefore, do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself." (Matthew 6:33-34a)

A service celebrating Jordan's life will be held Tuesday July 2, 2024 at 4:00 p.m. at Parkview Baptist Church, 268 NW Lake Jeffery Rd, Lake City, Florida 32055 with Dr. Mike Tatem officiating.
