Mr. Johnnie Ray Waters, 66, of Lake City, Fl passed away on Tuesday, December 14, after a brief illness. Johnnie was the son of James and Martha Waters and was born and raised in Lake City. He was a graduate of Columbia High School class of 1973.

Johnnie was the founder of Waters Racing 59 and enjoyed the sport of racing very much.

He also enjoyed spending time with family, working in his shop and around his farm, riding his motorcycle (when possible), and watching westerns with his fiancé.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James and Martha Waters, his brother, Bill Waters, his sister, Rosemary Hepburn, and his previous wife, Linda Sue Waters.

Survivors include his fiancé, Sheliah Roberts, his two daughters, Amy Chapman and Cristy Nave (Jason), his step daughter Tiffany Bever (William), two sisters, Betty Henderson (Kenneth) and Doris Rogozinski, and a host of nieces, nephews, and grandchildren, which he loved dearly.

Funeral services for Johnnie Waters will be conducted at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 3596 S US Hwy 441, Lake City, FL 32025 on Sunday, December 19th beginning with the viewing at 1:00 and a service at 2:00. Graveside will be at the Waters Family Cemetery directly following the service.
