John Robert Thoreson, 85, of Lake City, passed away on Friday morning, February 11, 2022 at the Lake City Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born in North Dakota on May 17, 1936 and has made Lake City his home since the mid-1980s. He was a carpenter by trade and in his spare time he enjoyed scuba diving, hunting, fishing, teaching Sunday School class and working with model train sets. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Jeanne Race.

He is survived by his son, Tony Thoreson (Lidia) of Pembroke Pines; grandchildren, Patricia Wolchott (Eric), John Arnold, Aramis Eusebio and Genesis Eusebio along with six great-grandchildren also survive.

At this time, per Mr. Thoreson's request, no services will be held. Cremation arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME.
