Mr. John Thomas Reed, 63, passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2025, at the Suwannee Valley Care Center (Haven Hospice) in Lake City, FL, following a lengthy illness. He is the son of the late Charles Thomas and Bessie Durrance Reed.  Mr. John is a lifelong Columbia County resident and has worked with the Department of Transportation for the past forty-two years in the sign shop. He was a faithful member of the First Apostolic Church and enjoyed gardening, fishing, being a camp counselor and working with the youth of his church, and he was an Avid Florida State Fan.

Mr. John is survived by his wife of three years Deanna Reed, Lake City, FL; his three brothers Jack Reed, Lake City, FL; James Reed, Valdosta, GA; and Roy Thomas of England; one sister Virginia 'Ginny" Parnell, Lake City, FL and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.

A drop-in celebration of life for Mr. John will be conducted on Friday, February 14, 2025, at 5:30 P.M. until 8:30 P.M. at their home located at 763 SE Nature Drive Lake City, FL 32025.  Cremation Arrangements are under the direction and care of GATEWAY-FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME, 3596 S.
