John Richard "Jack" Hafner, 90 of Lake City, passed away on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at his home.  He was born in Cambridge, Ohio to the late John Lester Hafner and Freda Pattison Hafner.  Mr. Hafner had made his home in Lake City since 1984 having previously been a longtime resident of Coshocton, Ohio.  He was raised in Coshocton, Ohio and was a graduate of Coshocton High School.  Mr. Hafner was an entrepreneur and owned and operated Hafner Enterprise in Lake City with his wife.  He loved his dogs, enjoyed reading, studying military history and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Hala J. Hafner, Lake City; one daughter, Jaqueline Verna, San Antonio, TX; one son, John Richard Hafner, II (Wendy), Tampa; five grandchildren, Travis Verna, Hala Hafner, Sabrina Hafner, Megan Hafner and John Richard Hafner, III; and 1 great-grandson also survives.

A graveside service for Mr. Hafner will be conducted on Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 11:30 AM at the Hafner Family Cemetery in Lake City.  Entombment will follow.  Visitation with the family will be prior to the service on Saturday, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
