Mr. John Mark Higgs, Jr. 35, passed away on February 23, 2024, following a sudden illness. He is the son of the late John Mark Higgs, Sr. and Brenda Kimbrell. He was preceded in death by one Uncle Jeffers Harvey Kimbrell. Mark had made Lake City his home all his life and attended Christ Central Ministries, he enjoyed spending time with his children, drawing, and music, he was always trying to make someone laugh, he had a carefree spirit, and even in his darkest hour he always tried to spread the Word. His major life goal was he loved his family.

Mark is survived by his two sons John Mark Higgs, III, and Noah Ethan Higgs, both of Lake City, FL; one daughter Serenity Kole Higgs, Lake City, FL.  one brother Justin Corey Kimbrell, Lake City, FL. two sisters Jennifer Lynn Kimbrell (Ron Keenan) Gainesville, FL and Lisa Marie Boyd (Dave)Brandon, FL two aunts Connie Miklautsch and Robin Williams both of Lake City, FL. and a host of extended family also survive.

A memorial service for Mark will be conducted Tuesday, March 26, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Pastor Travis Buchanan officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the funeral at the funeral home.
