John Anthony Harber passed away on January 12, 2023. Born to Norma Freiburger Harber and Tom Harber in Plantation, Florida on January 9, 1952, he was one of eight siblings. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in 1970 before moving to north central Florida.

John married Cathy Ryan in 1974 and they raised their two daughters in the High Springs area. After retiring from working as a surgical technician, John filled his time with the things that had always given him great joy – immersing himself in new culinary endeavors, playing guitar on the back porch, supporting local bands and restaurants, and being the absolute best Papa to his grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife Cathy, daughters Sarah (Reid) Murnahan and Hannah (Thomas) Wynn, and four beloved grandchildren.

The service will be held at Fort White United Methodist Church (185 South Well St, Fort White, Fl 32038) on February 11th at 2pm. Please note that seating is limited and may include standing room only. All are welcome to join the family for a celebration of life after the service at The Lion's Club in High Springs (26900 US Hwy 27, High Springs, Fl 32643) at 3:30pm. There will be BBQ and live music. Please bring a camp chair and a covered dish to share if you'd like.
