Joe A. Shearer met his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ face to face on July 11, 2024. He was born on July 25, 1931 in Wenatchee, WA.
Joe was preceded in death, 3 days short of their 71st wedding anniversary by his sweetheart, Martha "Marti" Shearer (November 29, 2022), and his son, Robert "Larry" Lawrence Shearer in 1961.
Joe served his country in the United States Air Force for 27 years. He also taught Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Heating, and Solar Technology at the local junior college for 10+ years. He then became a Quality/Safety Representative and finally Manager of the Climatic Laboratory on Eglin AFB, which has the largest environmental chamber in the world. He was extremely involved and faithful to his church family by serving as Deacon, Sunday School teacher, and any other positions they needed. He loved his Savior above all else! After his third retirement, Joe enjoyed building and flying model airplanes. He was actively involved in the local Eglin Aero Modeller's Inc. club and even taught several grandsons how to fly.
Survivors include two daughters, Debbie (Bryant) Wagoner of Ft. Walton Beach, FL and Terri (David) Barber of Lake City, FL. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 6 great great grandchildren.
The family will be celebrating his life at a later date in Lake City, FL. Interment will take place on July 16, 2024 at Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery in Panama City, FL.
