Obituary

Mrs. Jo Neal Ward, 81, of Lake City passed away on Monday, August 12, 2024 at the Haven Hospice Suwannee Valley Care Center following a lengthy illness. A native of Blairsville, GA, she was the daughter of the late Neal W. and Elena Martha Nix Collins and had been a resident of Lake City since 1973. Mrs. Ward retired from Hillandale Farms & Cal Maine Foods after 47 years working as an accountant and was a member of Orchard Community Church in Lake City. She was preceded in death by her first husband Larry G. Sargent and her second husband William Frances Ward, Sr..

Mrs. Ward is survived by her son, Larry Daryl Sargent (Lorraine); daughter, Cassandra Jo Giebeig;  grandchildren, Kinsley Giebeig (Steven Gonzalez), Kyle (Julie) Giebeig, Kaleb (Laurie) Giebeig, Brodi Barona (Andres), and McCabe Sargent; seven great grandchildren; step sons, William F. Ward, Jr. (Rhonda) and Ashley Scott Ward, Sr. (Natalie); step grandchildren, A.J. Ward, Cole Ward, and Cody Ward.

Graveside funeral services for Mrs. Ward will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, August 17, 2024 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery with Pastor Mike Federico officiating. Interment will follow. Visitation with the family will be held from 10:00-11:00 A.M. Saturday (1hour before services) at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to Haven Hospice/Suwannee Valley Care Center, 6037 West US Hwy 90, Lake City, FL 30255.
