Jimmy L. Smith, 49 of Lake City, Florida went home to be with his Lord and Savior Sunday December 9, 2012. He was born in Lake City to Ethea (Walker) Smith and the late Dolphus Smith. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and will be deeply missed by his family and extended church family. He is preceded in death by his father, Dolphus Smith.
Survivors include his three sons, Charles Spain and Travis Spain, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and John Allan Spain of Lake City, FL; mother, Ethea (Walker) Smith of Lake City, FL; sister, Rita Martin of Lake City, FL; and 3 grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, December 11, 2012 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Ivan Clemmons officiating. Interment will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Suwannee County. Visitation with the family will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Monday evening, December 10, 2012 at the funeral home.
