Born on March 5, 1960, in Lexington, Missouri, Jill led a life marked by kindness, generosity, and a sharp wit that brought laughter and light to all who knew her. A faithful member of the Lake City Church of Christ, Jill's faith was an important aspect of her life, providing her with strength and community. Her personal life was enriched by her love for reading and music, finding solace in the pages of a good book and the melodies of oldies and classical music. Jill dedicated her professional life, before retiring, to a medical software company, where she played a crucial role in overseeing the installation of software products and training office staff across the country. Her career reflected her passion for helping others and improving the healthcare industry through technology. Jill leaves behind a loving family, including her sister Amy Oberlies and brother-in-law Duane Oberlies, nephew Leonard Smith, and nieces Jill Smith and Shelley Santiago. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virginia and Charles Wood, and her beloved husband, Librado Valdez. Services to honor Jill's life will be held at Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral Home in Lake City, Florida, on July 19, 2024. Visitation is scheduled for 1pm, followed by the funeral service at 2pm.
