Jessie G. Padgett, 62, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Sunday evening, June 13, 2021 at the Haven-Suwannee Valley Hospice Care Center after an extended illness. She was born in Douglas, Georgia to the late Stanley Helmick and Tiny Ely Bray. She has made the Columbia and Hamilton County area her home most of her life and was a homemaker all of her life. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who loved going to the river, rooting for the Georgia Bulldogs and spending time with her grandchildren and "fur children". She is preceded in death by her brothers Stan and Scott Helmick.

She is survived by her husband of 33 years, Michael Padgett of Lake City; son, Brandon Padgett (Katie) of Lake City and her grandchildren, Ella and Livy Padgett.

A funeral service for Mrs. Padgett will be conducted on Friday, June 18, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Jeffrey Wethington officiating. Internment will follow at a later date in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Lake City. The family will receive friends on Thursday evening, June 17, 2021 from 5:00-7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
