Jerry Patrick West

Jerry Patrick West, 81, of Lake City, Florida, passed away on August 22, 2026.

Jerry was born on October 14, 1944, in Clarksville, Tennessee, to Carroll and Elois West. In the 1970s, Jerry moved his family to St. Petersburg, Florida, where he and his brother, William “Bill” West, promoted motocross races at Sunshine Speedway. In later years, they continued working together to promote outdoor motocross events and Supercross races. Over the years, Jerry and Bill became known as legends at Gatorback Cycle Park in Gainesville, Florida. Jerry eventually made his home in Lake City.

Jerry was kind, funny, generous, and witty—a friend to many. His quick, sharp sense of humor was his trademark and will be remembered by everyone who knew him. He loved playing golf with his friends at the Lake City Country Club.

Jerry is survived by his partner, Carolyn Castagna, and her daughter, Holly Castagna; his daughter, Brandy (Charles) Brim; his brother, Bobby West of St. Petersburg, Florida; his sister, Vicki West of Clarksville, Tennessee; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wives, Linda and Anita; his daughter, Tammy; and his brother, William.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Haven Hospice or to the charity of your choice. A celebration of life will be held at the Lake City Country Club on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 5:30 p.m.

Jerry will remain forever in our hearts and will be deeply missed.
