Mr. Jerry Wayne Fenter, 76, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023, at the V.A. Hospital in Lake City, FL. following an extended illness. He was a son of the late Gene Kenneth and Mable Montgomery. Jerry made Lake City his home for the past thirty-five years after moving here from Oklahoma City. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and attended the Cannon Creek Ward. Jerry served his country in the United States Navy where he worked as an electronic mechanic, he retired from the VA Hospital after twenty-five years of service and worked at Wal-Mart for fifteen years following his time at the VA. He was an avid sports fan and a die-hard Oklahoma Sooners Fan and was an adopted Florida State Fan.  He enjoyed spending time with his family.

Mr. Fenter  is survived by his wife of fifty years, Charlotte Fenter, Lake City, FL three sons Jeffrey Wayne Fenter, Sayer, OK; Christopher Lynn Fenter (Virginia), Lake City, FL; and Jeremy Austin Fenter, Elpaso, TX one daughter Cami Leigh-Ann Barker, Lake City, FL. one brother Gene Kenneth Fenter, Midland, TX; one sister, Linda Tyler, Elks City, OK; seven grandchildren, Logan and Gavin Fenter, Summer and Austin Fenter and Rick, Americus, and Nova Barker.

Funeral Services for Mr. Jerry Wayne Fenter will be conducted on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, Cannon Creek Ward, at 1298 SW Bascom Norris Dr., Lake City, FL 32025, with Bishop Kyle Wright officiating.   Visitation with the family will be one hour prior to service at the church on Saturday. Interment will take place at Jacksonville National Cemetery on Monday, July 3, 2023, at 1:30 P.M. with military honors.
