Jeffrey D. Shelton, 55, passed away, November 1, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer. Jeff was born in Wise County, Virginia to the late Rufus and Dorothy [Meadows] Shelton and had lived here in Columbia County for the past fifty years. He was a loving father and grandfather who enjoyed being outdoors hunting, and fishing, but his greatest love was his family and the time spent spoiling his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his precious wife of 31 years, Lora Lynn Shelton (2015).

Survivors include his son, Brandon (Lovette) Shelton; daughters, Shanda (Joe) Little, Kyli (Allen) Shelton, and Jennifer Shelton; grandchildren, Trista, Lorissa, Brandon & Crishtian Little, Jeffery Shelton III, Austin Williams, Jonathan Wilks, Ciarra Shelton, Aayliah & Landon Ford, Shania & Kyra Knowles; sister, Cindy (Emerson) North.

Funeral  services will be held at 2:00 p.m. , on Friday, November 6, 2015 in the chapel of Gateway-Forest Lawn Funeral Home with Pastor Randy Ogburn officiating. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to services (1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m.) at the funeral home.
