Norton Woodfin
August 4, 1945 – September 25, 2025
Jean Clare Norton Woodfin, 80, of Lake City, passed away peacefully on Thursday morning, September 25, 2025 at the Haven Hospice – Suwannee Valley Care Center in Lake City, after an extended illness. She was born on August 4, 1945 in Baltimore, MD to the late Louis & Evelyn Wagner. She worked for over 50 years with CSX Railroad, retiring at the Head of Railroad Design in 2019. In her spare time, she enjoyed marathon running, scuba diving, riding Harley-Davidson motorcycles, co-piloting her husband's airplane with him, listening to 60s music and dancing. In her later years, when her health permitted her, she enjoyed spending time with her horse, Katie the Horse. Most of all, she will be remembered for her infectious laugh.
She is survived by her loving husband, Larry E. Woodfin; daughter, Diane Norton; sister, Lois Hresko; and her grandchildren, Gavin and Nikki Hill. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
A Memorial Service for Mrs. Woodfin will be conducted on Tuesday, October 7, 2025 at 11:00 A.M. in the Gateway-Forest Lawn Memorial Chapel with her nephews, Dan & Mike Woodfin along with Minister Bruce Hatcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
