Dr. Jay Kent Polhemus, 73, entered Glory on January 15, 2021 at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida.  Born in Indianapolis, Indiana on June 17, 1947 to Dr. Warren C. "Polly" and Ann Jessup Polhemus, both having preceded him in death.  Jay attended Shadeland Elementary, Central Junior High, Anderson High School Class of 1965, Rose Poly Tech, Ball State, Notre Dame and graduated from Indiana University Medical School.  He practiced 16 years as an anesthesiologist at both St. John's and Community Hospitals in Anderson, Indiana.   He prided himself that he "never lost a patient" on his table.  Jay was an avid scuba diver, loved sports cars and music.  Surviving, a sister, Jan (Dion) Cole of Lake City, a niece, Jenna Cole of Miami, and nephews, Dain Cole of Jacksonville, Donnie Cole (Terry) and their son, Zachary of Pembroke Pines, Florida, his devoted caregivers, Theresa Porte, Pearlena Thomas and Willie Mae Dunmore.  Jay will be laid to rest beside his parents at Gray Friends Church, Carmel, Indiana at a later date.
