It is with great sadness that we announce the death of our dear mother,

Janet Marie Anschultz, (Granjan), 87 who passed away peacefully on February 13, 2023, with her family by her side at the ET York Haven Hospice Care Center in Gainesville, Florida after a brief illness. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother with an easy manner who was always there when we needed her and, who we will miss very much.

She was predeceased in death by her former husband James W. Anschultz, son, John Anschultz, grandson, John Anschultz Junior, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leroy Hayden, a brother John Hayden (Sylvia), and an aunt, Major Margaret Vizard.

She is survived by her daughters, Adana Anschultz, Gainesville, Florida, Kim Anschultz, Lake City, Florida, late John Anschultz (Tammy), Lake City, Florida, Peter Anschultz (Wendy), Hawthorne, Florida, Paul Anschultz (Angie), Lake City, Florida and seven grandchildren, Nicholas Anschultz, Olivia Anschultz, Leah Anschultz, Chase Anschultz, Alaina Anschultz, Matthew Anschultz, Michael Anschultz and two great grandchildren, Conner and Lucas Anschultz.

She is also survived by four siblings, Frank Hayden (Betty), Jane Anderson (late Bob), Dan Hayden (Kathy), and Mary Rose Levesque (late Ron), and 20 nieces and nephews who she loved dearly.

Janet was born in Trenton, Michigan to the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Leroy Hayden. She graduated from our Lady of Lourdes high school in 1954. She received an Associate of Arts Degree in April 1981 from Lake City Community College, Lake City, Florida. She attended the LPN Program at Live Oak Vocational Tech., Live Oak, Florida, and was a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) and Certified Home Health Aide.

Janet moved with her husband and five children from Plymouth, Michigan to Lake City, Florida in 1972.  She was very involved in the community and served on the Boards of the Community Concert Series, the Friends of the Library, and was Chairwoman for the Historical Society, Lake City, Florida.

She also volunteered at The Veterans American Medical Hospital, the Lake Shore Hospital Gift Shop, the American Health Care Association, and the Adult Day Care Organization, Lake City, Florida.

She was kind and compassionate with a great sense of humor who loved the arts, playing bridge, conversation, books, board games, and enjoyed watching her favorite TV show Andy Griffith. She also loved the simplicities of nature, long walks and, bird watching. It soothed her soul along with her strong faith in God.

Janet was immensely proud of her family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and leaves behind beautiful memories.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2023, from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Gateway Forest Lawn Funeral home in Lake City, Florida. A Mass at Epiphany Catholic Church in Lake City, Florida will take place on Saturday, February 18, 2023, at 11:00 A.M.. In lieu of sending flowers, the family suggests a donation in support of ET York Haven Hospice Care Center, 4200 NW 90th Blvd, Gainesville, Florida, 32606.
