Jane Lane "Janie" Hollis

Mrs. Jane Lane “Janie” Hollis, 83, of Lake City passed away on Thursday, October 22, 2026. A native of Lakeland, Florida, she was the daughter of the late Gordon Byron and Lucy Jane Houser Lane, and had been a resident of Lake City since 1953. After high school Janie attended and graduated with her Masters Degree on a full scholarship from Florida State University where she was a member of PHI KAPPA PHI Honor Society and was also a member of the FSU Flying High Circus. She retired after 31 years with the Columbia County School System, a volunteer at the Christian Service Center, enjoyed playing bridge, fishing, travelling, and going out to lunch with her friends. Janie was a longtime member of First Presbyterian Church in Lake City.

Janie is survived by her son and daughter in law, Charlie Hollis and Natalie; grandchildren, Codie Jane Hollis “C.J.” and Louis Charles Hollis, III “Trey”; brothers, Gordon Lane, Jr. (Barbara), and Patrick Lane; stepsister, Amanda Lane- Cline (Darryl).

Memorial services for Mrs. Hollis will held on Saturday, November 7, 2026 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake City with Pastor Vaughan Smith officiating. A reception will immediately follow at the fellowship hall at the church. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to First Presbyterian Church or the charity of your choice.
