James Louis Anthony Vincent was born in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, to John Anthony Vincent and Carolynne Turner, on May 19th, 1954. He grew up there until the age of twelve when he moved to his mother's home state of Florida. James, or "Jim" as he was better known, went back to Pennsylvania after graduating from Hollywood Hills High School. At the age of twenty, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served for five years as a Navy Corpsman. After his service, he came back to attend the University of Florida, where he graduated as a Physician Assistant in 1989. James was working in Lake City, Florida, when he met Ashley Nelms, and they married in 1991. He raised Ashley's two children, Phalon and Austin, and they added three more children to their family; Kellen Grey, Jaime Jo, and Ashtyn Taylor. James worked at various medical practices in the area and also owned two clinics locally. James enjoyed playing music, was an avid reader, and was always engrossed in learning about new technology. He was living and working in Arizona for the past few years, until he came home to be with his children. His children, his sister Gina, and two of his brothers, Samuel and Terry, survive him. His brother John, and his parents predecease him. Jim was a wonderful brother, father, and friend. He will be greatly missed!
Funeral services were conducted at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at The Lake City Church of the Nazarene. Interment followed in Ochwilla Cemetery in Hawthorne, Fl.. GATEWAY- FOREST LAWN FUNERAL HOME is in charge of the arrangements.
