James Harley Roberts, Jr., 67, of O'Brien, passed away on Thursday morning, December 26, 2024 in the HCA Florida – North Florida Hospital in Gainesville after a brief illness. He was born in Perry, Florida on December 21, 1957 to James Harley Roberts, Sr. and the late Margaret Maddox Roberts. He grew up in the Taylor County area and has made the Suwannee County area his home since he was 17 years old. He was a farmer by trade and a member of the Midway Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing and loved watching FSU football. He is preceded in death by his son, James Audie Roberts and his sister, Carol Gunter.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Edna Cannon Roberts of O'Brien; son, Jason Roberts (Erin) of O'Brien; and his daughter, Nicole Roberts Walker (Chace) of Mayo. Four grandchildren, Troy Roberts, Mallory Roberts, Kane Walker and Reece Walker also survive.
A graveside funeral service for Mr. Roberts will be conducted on Tuesday, December 31, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. in the Oak Grove Memorial Cemetery in Branford with Pastor Daryl Fletcher, officiating. Interment will follow.
