James "Larry" Reeves, born on August 21, 1949, in Whiteville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025.

Larry was a devoted husband to Carol Reeves (née Witt), with whom he shared 53 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they built a loving family that includes their daughter Amber Tompkins (Dale) and son Brandon Reeves (Stacey). Larry was a proud grandfather to Grace Tompkins, Emma Tompkins, Connor Brennan, and Caitlin Brennan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Nathan O. Reeves and Prue Reeves (née Faulk), as well as his brothers Charles and Danny Reeves. He is survived by his sisters Linda Reeves and Shirley Lang and his brother James Reeves.

A veteran of the United States Air Force, Larry exemplified dedication and service throughout his life. After his military service, he worked for the Florida Department of Transportation for 35 years before retiring. A longtime member of Old Providence Baptist Church, Larry's faith was a cornerstone of his life.

Larry will be remembered for his strong work ethic, creativity, and generosity. He found joy in helping others and spent countless hours building projects in his workshop. He also loved traveling with Carol, especially enjoying their many cruises together.

Larry leaves behind a legacy of service, friendship, and love that will continue to inspire those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.

Funeral services for Mr. Reeves will be conducted on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Old Providence Baptist Church in Providence. Interment with military honors will follow at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Cemetery in Lake City.  A time of visitation with the family will be Monday evening from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
